Charity Work & Events

For those of you who don’t already know DPC is a nationwide PADI endorsed competition for year 10 students, its aim is to produce 200 Ocean Ambassadors who can return to their school and educate their peers about how to preserve and save our marine environment.

The winning School from our area was St Edmonds Catholic School, Portsmouth and we are both fundraising and going to Cornwall to support our 20 students during their journey.

DPC (Dive Project Cornwall) is a not-for-profit organisation totally reliant on charitable donations to fund the accommodation, training and associated costs.  The infrastructure of the project (equipment) is already backed by some of the industry’s biggest names Suunto, Forth Element,  Beuchat, DAN, DiverNetand Mikes Dive Store to name but a few and the education element is being facilitated by PADI, Marine Conservation Society.

Our Role as a Dive Centre of Choice for the Sussex area is to raise £3,975 + VAT to cover the base costs of sending the 20 winning students from St Edmonds School to Porthkerris for a week where they will learn about the marine environment and become qualified Scuba Divers.  Furthermore we are here to support the Staff, Students and parents as they prepare for a life changing experience and then we will attend with the school and assist with the training during their week 30th July to 5th August

How can you get involved?
Although Sussex Diving & Leisure and the School have probably raises 30% of the required funds we still have a long way to go and every penny will get us closer to our goal. All funds raised will go directly to DPC and any surplus will be fed into the infrastructure at Porthkettis to benefit the students from next years competition.
